The Renaissance, Grand Cayman

History of the Property

History of Property

The Renaissance is a fairly new property that was re-developed and completed in 2010, replacing the original two storey condominium hotel, Tarquynn Manor that was first built on this site.

Tarquynn Manor was originally developed as a condominium in the mid 70’s by brothers Don and Brian Butler who were responsible for introducing many of the original Tarquynn Manor owners to the Cayman Islands. Brian Butler has since become extremely well known for developing many of the most outstanding and luxurious condominium properties on Seven Mile Beach.

Shortly after Hurricane Ivan devastated the Island in 2004, the decision was made to take down the property and re-develop the site, replacing the existing Tarquynn Manor with the newest and only luxury property that is situated on the quiet north end of Seven Mile Beach. With the property being completely re-built from the ground up it was decided it was only appropriate that this new magnificent and luxurious accommodation be given a brand new name to match its upscale look and hence The Renaissance was born.

History of Property

Since we first opened our doors to the public in July of 2010 we have been honored to accommodate visits from many guests, including former Tarquynn Manor guests, who returned because of their love of this secluded and quiet area of Seven Mile Beach. We are so happy at the feedback of these guests who now enjoy the magnificent upscale accommodations now offered by The Renaissance.

Many of the original owners of Tarquynn Manor remain as Renaissance owners today and much as they love the new luxurious accommodations we provide, they still cherish fond memories of those early days of Tourism in the Cayman Islands when the Island was far less developed. While much has changed in Grand Cayman over the years, there is much that remains the same –friendly people, beautiful sunsets, gorgeous white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and quiet relaxation.
