Long before The Renaissance was established, this very stretch of sand was home to Tarquin Manor, one of the early condominium resorts on Seven Mile Beach. Built in the 1970s, Tarquin Manor was known for its friendly atmosphere and genuine Caymanian warmth — a favorite among owners and guests who valued the island’s natural charm over glitz.
When Hurricane Ivan struck in 2004, the property sustained irreparable damage. But from that devastation came an opportunity — not just to rebuild, but to reimagine what oceanfront living could be. Many of the original Tarquin Manor owners joined together to redevelop the property, ensuring that its legacy would live on.
Their vision gave rise to The Renaissance, completed in 2009, a property that blends contemporary architecture with the same spirit of community that defined Tarquin Manor. It stands today as a tribute to both Cayman’s resilience and the loyalty of those who have loved this shoreline for generations.
