Guests of The Renaissance are just a 10-minute drive from Barkers Beach, a quiet stretch of coastline located within Barkers National Park in West Bay. Unlike the busy resort areas of Seven Mile Beach, Barkers remains largely undeveloped, offering wide open sand, shallow waters, and a glimpse of Grand Cayman’s wilder side. It’s one of the few places on the island where you can ride a horse along the shoreline—and even into the sea.
Rides typically last one to two hours and are guided by experienced local operators who tailor the pace to each group’s comfort level. The terrain includes sandy trails, mangrove-lined paths, and firm beach stretches that are perfect for walking or light trotting. Along the way, riders often spot native birds, small stingrays, and other coastal wildlife.
